
Mark Muckle
General Manager
Mark is responsible for ensuring successful project and commercial delivery across the business. Mark has gained much of his experience working on complex, multi-disciplinary projects either as senior civil engineer, or project management lead for both public and private sector Clients. Mark has over 25 years’ experience delivering high quality projects across the healthcare, education, industrial, food and beverage, residential and transportation sectors.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys playing guitar, building scale models and is involved in the development of young people through his local Pathfinder club. Mark is also passionate about wildlife and travel.

Martyn Connelly
Associate & Head of Structures
Martyn has been in the construction industry for in excess of 40 years, the latter 32 of which have been as a Consulting Engineer, with a special interest in structural steelwork.
His primary role is ensure that structural problems are approached in an efficient and pragmatic matter to achieve economic and practical solutions for Clients’. Thinking “outside the box” when dealing with particularly complex or challenging problems is relished, which often means direct liaison with specialist trades to ensure that the design intent can be met whilst allowing such trades to emphasise preferred details or construction techniques.
Martyn is a keen traveller with an ambition to visit major natural phenomenon, and areas of unique lifestyle throughout the world. For his sins, Martyn is also an ardent follower of his local football team Derby County where he has held a season ticket for many years. Early mornings, he can be seen wandering the local countryside walking his Staffordshire Bull Terrier “Tito”.

Richard Cartwright
Structural Engineer
Richard is a Structural Engineer and has been working in the construction industry for the past 19 years in a series of increasingly technically challenging roles. The past 13 years of which have been working in a consulting environment. He has a wealth of construction knowledge and is keen to encourage design in a digital environment. In his free time when not challenging himself learning new skills in a variety of projects, he enjoys reading and the freedom of motorcycling, but spending time with his family is his most fulfilling past time.

Adam Cox
BIM Coordinator
Adam is a BIM Coordinator who has been working in the construction industry since graduating from the University of Derby in 2011. He has worked in a number of roles ranging from the design office to managing BIM process for manufacturers. Having begun his BIM journey in 2017 and having worked with a number of BIM working groups throughout the construction industry, he can offer a good insight into BIM processes.
In his spare time, he enjoys having a pint, trying to play golf and spend time with his family and his 2 young boys who keep him very occupied.

Helen Cannon
Management Accountant
With more than 11 years accountancy experience in both financial and management accounting, Helen has gained a wealth of knowledge, specifically in the service industry – focusing on the implementation of new systems to streamline processes and report on their management.
In 2016, she became a fellow member of the Association of Accounting Technicians.
In her spare time, Helen enjoys spending time with the family and she loves nothing more than walking Millie the dog, often racking up 25 miles a week. She’s also a keen runner, and has a passion for travelling, often used as a personal travel agent by her family and friends!

Debbie Chapman
Administrator
Deb has worked in Administration & Finance for all her working life. She has previously worked in the Car & Van Rental sector for over 10 years and in recent years worked for a large Chicken & Pork Free Range company in an Administration/ Finance role before joining SDA in October 2019.
Deb is a keen traveller and enjoys nothing more than searching for and organising her holidays. She also is a keen gardener and enjoys a good glass of Red Wine.

Andrea Bradbury
Business Development Coordinator
Andrea ran a family based construction company for many years, before finding success as a Business Development Manager. Over the last 10 years she has always created the Business Development department from a blank canvas and had a great degree of success in doing so. Over the last decade Andrea has proven her ability not only as a BDM, but as Practice Manager running a team of up to 20 people.
In her spare time she loves cooking, long walks with her dog and holidays with her fur baby along the South Coast.

Andrew Dingley
Civil Engineer
Andrew is a Civil Engineer with 15 years’ experience as a consulting engineer. In his time as a consulting engineer Andrew has managed residential design jobs ranging from 5 to 750 plots, designing to Building regulations, NHBC, Sewerage Sector and relevant Highway’s design guidance.
In his spare time, he is working towards a Level 7 Diploma in Construction Management, spending time with his family and attempts to do DIY.

David York
Revit / CAD Technician
David is a Revit/CAD technician and has been in this role for the last 7 years after changing his career from a science background. He completed his ICE and Engineering Council membership in 2017 going through the technical route based on time served before he went on to complete HNC and HND in construction and the built environment.
In his spare time, David was a bass player in a number of bands but the addition of two beautiful little girls means he had to hang up his bass for the time being. In addition David is a content creator, where he enjoys creating and editing his videos.

Max Bradley
Revit / CAD Technician
Max is an experienced Revit / CAD Technician with 6+ years’ experience.
Started as an Apprentice CAD technician in 2014. Whilst being very technology focused, Max has delivered projects using Virtual and Augmented Reality, along with Drone surveying and Point Cloud capture. Priding himself on bringing creative solutions to problems and show real enthusiasm when working on projects.
His hobbies include going to gym, cooking, preferring being stood next to the BBQ than the Stove! PC gaming and annually, I organise a 24 hour charity stream with my friends on the first Friday of December to support McMillan (Game Heroes). Last year I raised £560!

Iain Johnston
Associate Structural Engineer
Iain joined SDA from our parent company NIRAS, having spent much of his career in the building structures field working on large structural and civil engineering projects, including ports and marine developments such as dockside structures, offshore structures and refurbishment works to existing warehouse buildings.
Iain also has a wealth of knowledge on industrial and food processing facilities such as whiskey distilleries, dairy alternative manufacturing facilities and automotive facilities.
